Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary, or simply Kalatop Sanctuary, is a 30.69 km² animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The sanctuary area is well laid out for trekking trails both at Kalatop and Khajjiar.

Kalatop Khajjiar is an animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the Chamba district and famous for trekking trails. The Kalatop is located at the 2,500 meters above sea level. Home to the rich wildlife, verdant grasslands, white water streams, thick deodar and surrounded with the snow-capped mountain ranges, Kalatop is the ideal place for nature lovers. The forest has a variety of animal species like bear, leopard, jackal, and langur, and bird species like Eurasian Jay, black-headed Jay, and the blackbird. If you are a nature lover and looking to spend some great quality time with your family or friends then this tour is made for you.
Go on a 6 km trekking trail with an experienced and local guide who can speak in Hindi and English. Enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery of majestic snow-capped peaks and mountains and dense forest throughout the trek, capture some wild animals if you get lucky. After reaching the top marvel at the splendid views of nature and click hundreds of photos with the stunning and charming views. After completing the Kalatop trek you will be dropped back to the starting point of Khajjiar.

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Ganji Pahari is between October and February. It is winter season during these months, the region receives a good amount of snowfall every year, and the mountain peaks are all covered in a white blanket of snow. For those who do not wish to camp on the hill, it is highly recommended to reach Ganji Pahari in the first half of the day. This will ensure tourists have enough daylight to trek through, capture memories and return to Dalhousie the same day.
